Alfred State Associate Professor and Department Chair of the Business Department Mark Bloxsom and Lecturer in the Physical and Life Sciences Department Jennifer Ross were honored with the Student Advocate Award during the 40th annual Honors Convocation.

Business classes present plans for improvements to mail services on campus

"Students had to work together to research and analyze the issue from multiple angles to determine exactly what the problem was and then propose possible solutions to administrators to improve it. For many students this was their first time working on a real problem and project of this magnitude. Peer tutoring continues to receive support from the Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc.

Since the 2010-2011 academic year, the Foundation has provided funding to the college’s peer tutoring program. As a result, the program has fulfilled more than 2,482 student requests, providing more than 14,351 hours of support.

Nutrition classes raises money for Community Needs Hub

“Alfred State has put forth a mission of enhancing learning through hands-on experiences while engaging students to be involved in a caring community. As a Nutrition course, I feel it’s our responsibility to bring awareness to food insecurity and support efforts to combat it. Hundreds of Alfred State students were honored at the 40th annual Honors Convocation. Dr. Carrie Cokely, Vice President for Academic Affairs, presided over the event.
