Gary Moore ’76 and Christiana Mehmel ’19 were honored for bringing distinction to their alma mater and to themselves through their outstanding personal and professional achievements. Moore was named the 2023 Alfred State Distinguished Alumni while Mehmel was named the 2023 Alfred State Outstanding Young Alumni Award Winner.

Alfred State architecture students presented their plans for "A Modern Connection to the Historic Village" at the David A. Howe Library in Wellsville. More than 45 students were involved in developing plans for Downtown Wellsville.
2022 Alfred State graduate Alec Harrigan was recently honored as the recipient of the Student Project Award for the 2021-22 school year by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Buffalo/Western New York Chapter.
Growing up in the suburbs of Rochester, Jesse Olsovsky, ’99, experienced snowstorms growing up but a move to Florida after graduating from Alfred State College has him adjusting to the aftereffects of tropical storms.
William Dean, professor and department chair of the Architecture and Design program, traveled to Oklahoma State University and participated in the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) Scholars in Professional Practice program.
Alfred State College (ASC) has announced the appointment of Assistant Professor Bryan Toepfer, AIA, NCARB, CAPM, as the NCARB Architect Licensing Advisor for the architectural programs. Professor Toepfer will assume his position effective September 1, 2022, in addition to his duties as Program Coordinator of the AAS Architectural Technology program in the Department of Architecture and Design.
