Alfred State honored employees celebrating service milestones at the annual employee recognition luncheon. The event also honored retirees, and Craig Clark was awarded the Pioneer Spotlight Award.
"My experience with the STAR program was profound in my understanding of architecture and my development in designing capabilities. When learning about the materials we use every day to construct a building we often forget the process behind making it. Every terra cotta tile has a long exact process to create it. Seeing the process has been eye opening and something I will never forget.”
Connor Welsh
“Brandon performed well by staying focused on his process shot to shot, and not overthinking the outcome to distract him from what he needed to do.”
Travis Smith
“I feel like we have really shown what you can accomplish within the set bounds and design criteria that we were given for senior projects. I really hope to come back one day and see even greater future senior projects.”
Steffen Burkhardt
Jason Doviak, Phil Schroeder, Janice Stafford, Megan Clark, and Theresa Toth-Fleischman were honored for earning SUNY Chancellor Awards at the annual Alfred State Employee Recognition Celebration.
"Recently, at commencement, I looked out at all the proud parents who were there to celebrate the milestone for our students. I share their excitement because I know what a tremendous job our faculty have done educating them on the skills, they know employers are looking for when hiring. Students at Alfred State are learning real-world skills that prepare them for great-paying careers.”
Dr. Steven Mauro
“This project began as a question and evolved into something far more meaningful than I anticipated. It gave me the opportunity to think differently about water, change, and how we design for uncertainty. This experience will continue to shape my work going forward.”
Katie Petix
“This event highlights the splendid work our students do in and outside the classroom. What a wonderful way to start the final week of the 2024-25 school year. I encourage our students returning next year to keep up the great work and wish our graduates continued success in their future endeavors.”
