Pioneer alum wins court reporting speed championship

“It was a great feeling. After getting second place twice, it was something I have been on the cusp of for a while. I am glad this was finally my year. The people who compete are the best in the field, so even when you do well, it is not given that you are going to win. There is great camaraderie among us, and most of us practice together. We all help each other to be better reporters, and we are all constantly refining the craft.” Patricia Orsini Nilsen

Pioneer PROfiles - Gabriela Leite

“I just fell in love with the campus even though it was virtual. I always like more of a rural place, a smaller town, so I did the virtual tour and I just immediately fell in love.” Gabriela Leite

“Alfred State allows students the opportunity to get a more hands-on knowledge-based knowledge set. We get to do a lot more hands-on based things and I think that is more applicable to working in the industry.” Gabriel Cooks

Alumni Profile - Austin Clay - Gaming Connections

“We went from playing on MacBooks to playing on nice PCs in a couple years which was impressive. It was fun for me, but it was a lot of work form all of us to get to that point. It proved to me that what Professor Neuberger said in class was true, if you put the time in, you are going to get the results you want.” Austin Clay '20

“The Marketing BBA is a culmination of key topics and digital skills preparing students for today’s new marketing environments. The advantage of them learning digital design, content writing, and business marketing emulates how marketing and advertising firms actually work together. Students will have the benefit of hands-on projects and presentations solving marketing issues, completing market analyses, and developing digital marketing campaigns for business clients.” Susan Gorman, assistant marketing professor and program coordinator,

Pioneer PROfiles - Soumya Konar

“I really like the environment Alfred State provided. Every interaction I had with staff, students, and faculty on campus was positive. Coming from a populated city, I always wanted lesser people in class so I could interact with the teacher more. I can always go into their office hours and talk about any future goals or certifications that I wanted to do.” Soumya Konar
