The inauguration of Steven Mauro, PhD, as the thirteenth president of Alfred State College (ASC) will take place on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center.
Alfred State College (ASC) is inviting artists from the community, faculty, staff, and students to submit mural designs celebrating the college’s past, present, and future. President Steve Mauro is new to the Southern Tier but has already recognized a wealth of creative talent in the area. As part of presidential inaugural festivities, he wants to welcome artisans to join in the fun by showcasing talented artists.
Delivering his first State of Alfred State address, Dr. Steven Mauro focused on the pride, purpose, and promise of the institution. The address marks the start of the 2022 fall semester.

Alfred State College honored more than 60 students at Commencement ceremonies held for the Northland in Buffalo campus. Program Coordinator Dave Kostick presided over the event.
Alfred State College electrical engineering technology major Thomas Nelson (Burdett, NY) not only received his bachelor's degree during the 111th Commencement ceremony but he won a 2014 Dodge Dart.

Alfred State alum Joseph Laraiso, ’67, and Madison Szpaicher, ’17, have been honored for bringing distinction to their alma mater and to themselves through their outstanding personal and professional achievements.
