Spring Into Action Day of Service, an annual community service event co-sponsored by Alfred University’s Gary Horowitz Service Learning Program and Alfred State College’s Center for Civic Engagement, returned this year after a hiatus in 2020 due to the global pandemic.
“This program is a great way for new students to connect with their community, help out, and build relationships with others in their new home,” Jonathan Hilsher said.
“I was impressed with how the students were so dedicated to helping,” she said. “The students were eager to get their hands dirty and make an impact on the community. As students who are familiar with hands-on learning, they jumped right into the tasks they were assigned on day one," said Amy Miller.
