Brynn Timothy (Rochester, NY) has always been an artistic person and found the graphic and media design program at Alfred State to use those skills to make a career.
“I chose Alfred State because it was the best program for the best price.”
The variety of classes Brynn has taken has opened her eyes to opportunities. “I like that we get to take a variety of courses. I've taken photography, motion graphics, animation, and physical drawing classes such as figure and motion where we got to learn about the muscle placements and how to make bodies look realistic.”
The professors have added to her experiences, “They are very caring and willing to spend outside of class time, one-on-one, with you to help you through anything that you could need. They enjoy helping.”
Professors teach concepts and have students follow along in real time on their own computers. “We learn how to do certain tasks and then they assign us a project that uses those tools for us to prove that we understand it.”
Getting to a rebrand a music store from back home has brought all her learned skills together. “I am creating new logos, and color palettes, typefaces, and a design guide. I hope to make business cards and posters for them as well.”
Outside of the classroom, Brynn enjoys the friends she has made and the beauty of the area. “My favorite thing about Alfred State is walking around campus and seeing familiar faces and getting to enjoy the scenery.”
Alfred State has helped Brynn put all the pieces together to design a great career.
