Dr. Alex Bitterman, a professor in the Architecture and Design Department at Alfred State College (ASC), was recently quoted in a National Geographic article about the importance of disaster “prepping.”
Written by Nina Strochlic, the article is titled “Disaster ‘prepping’ was once an American pastime. Today, it’s mainstream again.” The write-up notes how Bitterman first became interested in the subject in the second grade during emergency preparedness drills from the Cold War.
