Kellogg's contribution is a personal memoir titled “Mossberg Memories,” in which he describes the joy of hunting experiences shared with his brother for more than half a century. He notes that Allegany County is a sporting paradise for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, boating, hunting, and fishing.
This book is the fifth entry in a popular series of mysteries for children, and is available on the Amazon website. The book contains beautiful color illustrations by Gary Kato, a prominent Hawaiian artist.
Students pursuing careers in law enforcement and public safety now have both two- and four-year degree options at Alfred State, with the recent addition of a Bachelor of Science (BS) in criminal justice.
The Alfred State Honors Program partnered with the college’s Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences recently to host “President Donald Trump: The First 60 Days.”
Titled “Presidential Election 2016,” the evening’s center point was a conversation with Alfred University Professor Emeritus Dr. Robert Heineman, and Alfred State Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences Dr. Rex Olson regarding the prolonged, and often contentious political campaign between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
“Barry Baskerville's Blue Bicycle” shows children how close observations and logical deductions can improve their problem-solving skills. The hero of the story is a precocious youngster named Barry Baskerville who dreams of becoming a great detective like Sherlock Holmes.
Visitors to the David A. Howe Library in Wellsville from Wednesday, Sept. 21 to Friday, Sept. 23 will have a chance to learn more about the history of Alfred State as part of Allegany County History Awareness Week, which runs from Sept. 19-25.
Dr. Jill Amati, chair of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department, which houses the minor, said, “The psychology minor is a great addition for our students. It complements Alfred State’s baccalaureate programs and offers students the opportunity to specialize their degree plan in a way that relates to their major.”
Kellogg writes frequently about detective fiction and the world of science fiction. He is the creator of a popular series of books for children featuring boy detective Barry Baskerville. The most recent entry, “Barry Baskerville Traps a Thief,” is available at the Amazon website.
Five students were recently inducted into the Psi Beta honor society, an organization that promotes interest in the study of psychology at two-year colleges.
