Professional Outlook

Mechatronics professionals are the technicians and engineers who design and maintain automated equipment. Technicians and engineers conduct their work in laboratories, offices or on-site at manufacturing plants. These professionals work toward the same goal of producing safe and efficient automated equipment. While technicians primarily maintain machinery, engineers are more concerned with the design and development of components, products, and systems.

Mechatronics technicians are a similar classification to electromechanical technicians. Typically, the technician begins work with an associate degree. Electromechanical technician employment is tracked by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. https://www.bls.gov/ooh/architecture-and-engineering/electro-mechanical-technicians.htm

PROGRAM DETAILS

Courses You May Take

Mechatronics interweaves electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering technology with applications in automated industrial processes and robotics. You will take foundational courses with a mixture of electrical and mechanical engineering technology content. The emphasis is on breadth of academic experience to appreciate a complete system. Studies range from computer aided drawing to force analysis to electric circuits to microcontrollers to industry standard Programmable Logic Controllers. You will learn to work with typical fabrication equipment, test equipment, and industrial computer programs.

Admissions Requirements

Exercitation dolore incididunt officia adipisicing culpa laboris labore sint. Consectetur Lorem et labore cillum ullamco in non ullamco commodo amet et. Ullamco dolore laborum incididunt ipsum proident dolore ad dolore consequat dolor.

SKILLS YOU'LL LEARN

With the AAS, you’ll apply math, science, and engineering knowledge to operate, troubleshoot, and test electromechanical systems while mastering CAD tools, electronics, and teamwork. Advancing to the BS, you’ll expand into system design, programming, controls, and management, using advanced mechanics, materials, and calculus to solve complex, globally relevant engineering challenges.
