Gregory Sammons, EdD


Dr. Gregory Sammons, Vice President for Student and Employee Affairs, joined the Alfred State College staff in 1996.
Sammons' academic accomplishments include:
- Ed.D in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University
- Master of Justice Administration degree from Norwich University
- Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Houghton College
- Associate in Applied Science degree in criminal justice from Finger Lakes Community College
In 2012, Sammons was awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
As divisional vice president, Sammons oversees departments including Human Resources, University Police, Athletics, Health and Wellness Services, Residential Services, Student Engagement, Career Development, Cultural Affairs, Student Conduct and Community Standards, and Civic Engagement.
Dr. Sammons maintains membership affiliations with NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), where he holds senior professional certification (SHRM-SCP).
