Alfred State College (ASC) and SUNY Niagara have signed an articulation agreement that allows engineering students to pre-plan their college careers. The agreement guarantees graduates of SUNY Niagara’s Associate in Applied Science (A.S.) in Engineering Science the opportunity to apply for ASC’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering Technology program. These students will be granted full junior status and be offered guaranteed scholarships.

“This articulation agreement goes beyond the standard,” commented Alfred State Vice President for Carrie Cokely, PhD. “We are enriching the opportunities for SUNY Niagara students by introducing guaranteed admissions pathway into Alfred State’s bachelor’s degree program. This means students can begin their academic journey knowing that their next step to a four-year degree is not only possible but promised.”

“We’re always proud to strengthen our relationship with a sister SUNY campus, and this agreement with Alfred State is especially exciting because it will defray the cost of attendance,” added Holmes. “Our two colleges have created a smooth, new pathway for SUNY Niagara students to continue their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in a growing discipline.”

Cokely continued, “We know today’s students are smart, strategic, and financially savvy. That is why this agreement has been strengthened by guaranteed scholarships to SUNY Niagara students who transfer to Alfred State.”
Students interested in learning more about the dual admission agreement should contact the Alfred State admissions office.

“This agreement lets students begin their community college journey with the end in mind,” concluded Cokely. “Alfred State deeply values Western New York and is committed to building opportunities for students in this region. This partnership is another step in ensuring that bright future start right here at home.”
