This course provides the student with a thorough technical understanding of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), carbon arc cutting, welding and cutting safety, power sources and electrodes.
WELD 1733 Blueprnt Readng,Insp & Test
3 Credits
This course provides the student with a thorough technical understanding of blueprint reading for welders; and welding symbol interpretation and application.
Admissions Requirements
Recommended: In-depth knowledge of basic math skills.
In welding, you’ll practice shop and equipment safety while mastering oxyfuel, plasma, and arc welding techniques. You’ll perform fillet and groove welds on plate and pipe, analyze heat effects on metals, and develop fabrication skills. Training also includes inspection, recordkeeping, and math applications, preparing you for careers in the welding trade.
